Mitsuro Hikimi Japanese Wax Workshop
Workshop: Crafting with Mitsuro Hikime Wax
Discover Mitsuro Hikime Wax, an ancient Japanese technique used to create jewellery with rich, organic textures reminiscent of flowing wood grain. In this workshop, you'll learn to blend traditional ingredients to craft the wax and explore techniques for stretching and shaping it into delicate flowing forms.
You'll create a selection of experimental pieces and finish with a final design, one of which will be cast in bronze. Casting in silver, gold, or gold vermeil is also available at cost. Your wax model will be sent away for casting, and your finished piece will be ready in approximately two weeks.
Throughout the day, you’ll gain hands-on experience making and manipulating the wax, learning key techniques for preparing it for casting and beyond.
